After consultation with the Veteran associations
For the placing of the War Museum in Fort Imperial, the decision is on the City of Dubrovnik and City Council

In order with the City services guidelines, Razvoj golf representatives have been communicating with the Veteran associations in order to find an acceptable solution for the location of the War Museum in Fort Imperial. They were presented with several proposals for the location of the War Museum in order with professional and authority guidelines, Razvoj golf responds on a question about Fort Imperial reconstruction progress. Ministry of Construction issued a location permit for the Project of the resort with the golf courses in October last year, but the matter of reconstruction of the Fort Imperial and the location of the War Museum is still opened.
War museum on 960 m2
Company Razvoj golf respects the historical and sentimental value that the War Museum represents to the citizens of Dubrovnik so they made all necessary researches and a conservation study in cooperation with the Ministry of culture and Heritage department and they also researched the existing Fort condition before any ruling. We wish the War Museum to be a modern and functional area in which the history of Dubrovnik will be represented at its best and we do not want to just fill out the form in order to say that contractual obligation was fulfilled. For that reason and by the Concession Contract that allows us the possibility of proposing other solutions, we proposed several locations, the current one and the location of the Museum in the west bastion of the Fort – says proxy of Razvoj Golf, Ivan Kusalić, adding that in the process of resolving possible solutions of reconstruction of the Fort Imperial there was a question from professional side about functionality of the future War Museum on present location. He explains that current 311 m2 does not include only Museum area, but sanitary and communicational area also and considering that in order with Heritage Department guidelines the same area couldn’t be arranged in another way. Therefore, he says, they started further development of the Project. This led to another project solution which predicts 435 m2 just for the museum exhibition area, as well as additional areas which are needed for functionality of museum like museum entrance hall and reception desk, museum depo, public area for communication, sanitary areas as well as area for museum educational centre and also additional memorial rooms which are located on the ground floor of the Museum. Overall area of approximately 964 m2 will be three times bigger than the current one-explains Kusalić adding that he has unofficial information that Veteran’s associations have accepted the new solution.Preserving the dignity of Homeland War and role of Fort Imperial in a Homeland War is in everyone’s interest, but it’s necessary to make that in the best possible way, says Kusalić.
Decision on the City Council
Still, the final ruling is on the City of Dubrovnik, which decision is still awaits and all further activities, says Razvoj golf proxy, will be adapted to that decision and to positive regulation and laws of the Republic of Croatia. The approval of the conceptual design of the Fort Imperial was requested yet on April 28th 2015, since when there is no response from the City. At the end, he reminds, that by the City Council decision from July 2015 the concessioner was obligated to withdrawa the claim and to stop the procedure, and even now after half year there is no solution and decision of acceptance or rejection of either solution.
Despite all obstacles and difficulties that we have met so far, we carry on with the project considering that its realization will contribute to the additional development of the City of Dubrovnik, of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County and of Croatia itself - Kusalić concludes.
