Environmental Impact Study

Ministry of Environmental and Nature Protection gave the ‘green light’ to Golf Park Dubrovnik project.

Last conference of the Commission of the Ministry of Environmental and Nature Protection about the assessment of the Environmental Impact Study of Sports and Recreation Centre with Golf Courses on „Srđ“ was held on March 6th 2013. After discussion, the president of the Commission and the senior adviser of the Ministry’s Department of Environmental Impact Assessment M/s. Zrinka Valetić informed the public that the Commission unanimously gave a positive opinion on the acceptability of the project for the environment.

After more than six years of efforts for the realization of the project of Golf Park Dubrovnik, the profession, too, approved the acceptability of this project for the environment and nature. From the very beginning, the attitude of the Razvoj Golf Company was that there is no compromise when it comes to environment and environmental effects. The profession proved the same.

Environmental Impact Study was prepared by 14 recognized independent experts, proved its competence and the authenticity of elaborated analyses. Due to these confirmations, the project of Golf Park Dubrovnik gained professional acknowledgement that it does not have nuisance on the environment.

Members of the Commission and the experts who created the Environmental Impact Study held a conference due to the objections given on the last public discussion in Dubrovnik, which ended on January 25th 2013. Subsequently, the Commission members held a discussion on all the items of the Study, resulting in unanimous positive grade with respect to the acceptability of the project for the environment.

In the next month, the Ministry of Environmental and Nature Protection was obliged to decide if the project, along with the prescribed measures of environmental protection, was acceptable for environment, or not. Although the Commission’s positive opinion serves just as advisory background, it is a great acknowledgment for the experts who created the Study, but also for the project Golf Park Dubrovnik itself.

The Razvoj Golf Company’s procurator, Mr. Ivan Kusalic addressed the public, stating that they were extremely glad that the profession acknowledged the investor’s and Study creator’s claims that were communicated to the public over the years. He also stated that it is no surprise that the Commission unanimously accepted the Study because it was made according to the highest standards and directives of EU.
